Monika Hansen
Monika Hansen
Monika Hansen works in oils, acrylics or watercolours. Her subject matter captures a glimpse of the diversity of the Canadian rural and urban landscapes. The paintings appear uncluttered. Her love for simplicity is evident. She enjoys picking out the tiny details of a tree, or the delicate nature of the flowers found in the wild or in many backyards. Camping trips have taken her to other provinces in Canada. Her current work focuses on those travels.
Monika explores different ways to explore art. She also paints on fabric, designs cards, and illustrates children’s books. One of her sets of illustrations in the book “Wilson, do you hear it?” was nominated in 2017 by Manitoba Book Awards in the children’s category.
Monika’s art has been displayed in various gallery shows at Cre8ery Gallery, Selkirk Art Centre and in past Manitoba Art Expos.
